Liberia Advances Formal Oversight of Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining

Liberia’s US$1 million allocation under the FASMIN programme is intended to strengthen oversight and formalise small-scale mining operations. The initiative, announced by the Ministry of Mines and Energy on 26 October, focuses on reducing illegal mining and improving compliance; it falls just outside the 27 October–3 November reporting window but remained a current programme during the period.
