On 29 October, reports stated that the Kenya Rural Roads Authority had awarded KSh 15.54 billion in contracts to upgrade 95 rural roads since the start of the 2026/27 financial year. The programme covers rural access routes across several regions, with upgrades intended to improve connectivity and access to services.
